Inception & Founders - Palm Beach Hospital is the brainchild of Dr. L.D. Kotak and Esther Shongoro, who are both registered Directors of the Hospital.

Dr. L.D. Kotak has been in Private Medical Practice since 1980. He started his professional services in Voi and by the time he left Taita Taveta he was running three clinics – in Voi, Mtito Andei and Wundanyi. He used to care for 40 companies in Taita Taveta including: Kenya Posts, Kenya Pipeline, Kenya Railways, Voi Lodge, Kilaguni Lodge, Ngulia Lodge, Taita Hills Lodge, Plan International, DANIDA, ACTIONAID, NORAD, Tsavo Safari Camp, Teita Sisal Estate etc.

The Hospital is constructed on one acre of land (Plot No 999 Kwale/Diani Complex). This plot is on Palm Avenue joining Ukunda to Diani.

The Hospital serves the local community of about 600,000 people as well as 200,000 tourists who come to enjoy the sandy white pristine beaches of the South Coast

The Hospital building comprises about 11,000 square feet built up area with seven private rooms, 2 semi-private room of two beds each and two common rooms of 4 beds each. There is an Observation/Day Care Room comprising of two beds.

A fresh water well is also onsite for emergencies though the hospital is connected to normal fresh water supply from the Water Department.
We have already acquired 25 Advanced Ward care Beds together with individual reading lights from Germany. And a few items for the Kitchen like a Commercial Microwave Oven and a large Grill Oven.

The Hospital also has Ultramodern Theatre facilities for General as well as Endoscopic surgeries. With an onsite surgeon; we intend to make full use of this facility for the benefit of Tourists as well as wananchi. Most of the important departments in the Hospital are computerized for ease of accounting and service delivery.
